12/7

 Congratulation to Molly and Kadin

who both received their Confirmation.

Back In Person

Religion
The students are finishing up a unit on All Religions
in connection with our Diversity and Inclusion work
with projects of holidays from religions other than their own.

Literature
In reading class the students finished The Odyssey
and are busy now with analysis.

The first day back to in-person school, the students reported that it felt strange, and they would need some time to recover from virtual school. When asked what they think would help them recover, they said just talking with each other, telling stories. So at their request, homeroom in the morning is spent telling stories. They are silly stories, and they are right. Just sitting and talking, laughing, joking, and being silly together has seemed to help them retrieve a previous animation. What clever children.

Mrs. Ceferatti's son Simon, who was born blind, showed our students many of the tools he uses to help him navigate the world. Simon showed the students his Braille machine as well as several Braille books - even an atlas! He also shared some apps, including one called Be My Eyes , which allows blind or visually impaired individuals to connect with sighted volunteers who can describe their surroundings using a cell phone camera. We are so grateful to Simon for sharing his perspective with us! Reminders: Parent/Teacher Conference...
